Title: Extended Warranty
Post by: silver38 on 15 November 2018, 23:40
Why does VW no longer offer the factory extended warranty option to five years when ordering a factory build?
Others in the group do.

Maybe it’s to encourage those buyers who would normally keep their cars for 4 / 5+ years and value the protection of an extended factory warranty to change their cars more frequently - every 3 years.

Or perhaps VW don’t make enough profit on the extended factory warranty option?

I'm hoping and expect that option for 2 additional years at the 3-year age mark. That's what I've been given to understand. c £500?

With my mk6 they offered extension every year until this year only not offering it due to it  was 8 years old. Cost varies depending on age and mileage but I never paid as much as 500 for full cover inc breakdown cover.

That won't be the same as the factory warranty.
