Title: same stuff again...
Post by: [han] on 10 October 2005, 18:49
ok guys.. i got a quote of 800 to insure a golf gti cab! which is great... but im wanting cheaper...

i'm 19, 2years no claims, been driving two years, unfortunately got a non fault claim from the 3rd party in june this year...

any one got an suggestions? i've not had anything less than 1000 from other companies.. that quote is with budget...

argghhhhh....

got the money for the car sat waiting, but if i can't get a quote less than 800 3PFT then i may have to rethink cab options.... (and i DONT want to

heard an ad on the radio this morning for "sheila's wheels" who specialise in insurance for the girlies, might be worth a try.

i usually try confused.com first then ring round the vw/modified specialists like adrian flux, brentacre, greenlight to see if they can beat those quotes. Admiral have been the cheapest the last 2 years though.

Maybe a stupid question but have you tried Diamond ? They're women only insurers. Otherwise i'd go along with what speedo suggested.

Sounds like a good quote. I was 23 with 0 no claims in my first year and my clipper cost me £900 insurance.

oh dear o dear!!!... if u really wanted to know im studying graphic design.... not that that effects my insurance, its just the fact that i have to be a full time student with a p.t job that the insurers seem to sting me for!

not a bad quote, can probably gt cheaper... i can insure a 1.6gli for £803, but the stpid speeds ain't for me.. i just want a clipper/clipper lookalike to tootle about in.. pref before the leeds meet!!!

oh god insurance, i hate it. I pay £1700 a year third party fire and theft on my dads insurance (who has about 20 odd years no claims) for a mark 2 valver! cripples my account every month when i have to pay it but i am not bothered because i love it.

End of the day if the quote you get isnt what you hoped for, i would still insure it (and buy the car) it will be worth while in the end!

live in Preston
well initially i had another Valver which i killed theni swapped the details over for my dads mark 3 8 valve, then when i got my new valver i swapped it over again (same policy - 3 different cars!!) and for some reason it works out at £143 a month
