First : I’ve never yet seen one on the road...any idea how many have been registered?
Second : despite the forthcoming Mk8 I have just ordered a 7.5 Performance DSG for March 19 delivery.......anyone else in the same boat?

Hi, I’ve ordered a 7.5 GTI PP, but hoping to get it by the end of this year.

Yep - 7.5s (with the digital dash and other upgrades) started from 17 plates, with the PP version from 67 plates I think
-
I agonised whether to wait for Mk8 but wore myself out pondering the unknown ( in more than a few respects!).

See loads of standard GTi's, but surprisingly few PP's.
Had mine since Sept 17.

It's probably because to the majority of the hot hatch buying public, it's all about getting the badge for the least amount of money.

late 17 plates for PP - mines July 2017 and a PP.

Recent Autocar article suggests Mk8 GTI available 2020 so plus order time and low discounts reassures me that Mar 19 car will be good.
I wonder when factory order book for 7.5 will finally close?
-
Ordered mine end of July, being built this week and expecting delivery in November, dependent on whether or not it has got WLTP certification. As you say the MK8 GTI is likely to be arriving on our shores in 2020 and as always there will probably be some teething problems so I wouldn't worry too much about the March 2019 delivery.

Had my 7.5 PP since March this year, there is another 7.5 PP local to me that i see around as well, but thats the only other one ive seen!

Yes - Performance!
V nice car you have there.
Ordered mine 10 days ago and official VW “delivery by” date is 28 April 19. However I am assured the car will arrive in March!
Quite happy to wait as my present GTI will only be 2 next March and it’s when I planned to change so all is cool.
Is any one else out there planning on March 19 collection?

What colour you gone for?

I reckon April is worst case scenario because of WLTP, I don’t think anyone at VW has a clue when it will get certified. Mine has officially been built this week but they’re telling me I won’t be getting my hands on it till December because it’s not had WLTP certification and it won’t be likely to till then. Could happen any day though, i genuinely don’t think the dealers or customer service know when. I ordered at the end of July
-
Looks amazing Jim!
-
I’ve ordered Indium Grey 5 dr with DCC as the only extra. Not had DCC or DSG or 245hp before so should be a bit of a change up for me.
-
Very basics apart, i am not technically gifted when it comes to knowing all about engines, but does anyone know what the likely outcome will be in VW proving that the cars are WLTP compliant. Are we likely to see a reduction in performance / power for the GTI PP?

No, it will remain at 242bhp as shown on the MY2019 price list, it’s only the R that has had a reduction in power to comply with WLTP

Saw the Atlantic Blue one last night on my way home, must be 3 of us in pretty close proximity then!

I have owned a Mk 7.5 GTI PP DSG for a year next month and have not seen any other Mk 7.5 GTIs of any type on the road at all in S. Wales
-
There are 3 standard 7.5 GTIs within a mile of me in SW
-
PP wasn't available when I ordered mine in April 17. Gutted!!!!
-
Had mine a month, only 400 miles but I love it. Massive difference after being in LR Discovery’s for nearly 14 years

I am new to the forum and haven't yet got my car. I have been trying to get hold of a Mk7.5PP as a lease car. I am being told by the lease company that it does not have a WLTP certificate despite them having got a car in stock (basically standard car with Bressicas). My local dealer had a PP in the showroom which was sold a couple of weeks ago, so I assume that the car does have a certificate. I am struggling to get much sense out of the lease company, so at the risk of winning the award from oddest question of the day - has anyone actually taken delivery of a PP with 19inch wheels since September....? Thanks.

Welcome. WLTP certification for the 7.5PP was signed off 2nd week of December. VW started sending cars to dealers at that point and they started to arrive at dealers before Xmas.
Mine was delivered to the dealer on the 21st, along with three others. Three of those had 19’s.
If I were a betting man I would suggest that dealers took priority over lease companies, and your lease company is bullsh!tting to try and retain your order.
IIWY, get on the phone to some big dealers and see what physical new & unregistered stock they have (for example I know my dealer has 3 sat in their showroom and access to more from their group). You should be able to price match any current lease offered from brokers (I did this on a MK7 match edition for my ex back in 2016), however you will have to pay more for options if they are fitted.

I just have the standard GTI, but have never seen a PP near me. Every performance golf round my way is a GTD. there are absolutely loads of them.
