as the polo estate seem's like a great street sleeper
any link's ?
-
I had one of those Polos and fancied doing something with it.
You could try looking on the Club Polo forum: www.porka.net (http://www.porka.net)
The VR6 lump is popular for Mk4 polos but the G40 is about the best in the Squareback polos.
-
I used to have one of those polos i was goin ot put my 8v in it when i put vr6 in my golf but
i sold it would be nice to have a vr6 in one or squeeze a R32 lump in lol
-
all I can find on porka is 1.4 or 1.6 16v mk3s
I'll keep hunting on there though
I was thinking a 2.0 16v polo could be a proper tool for upseting lot's of hot hatches
-
Squareback's are Mk2, Mk3 Polo's are the coupe's (more rounded) and Mk4 are the 6N chassis (from about L reg onwards).
I did have a Mk2 Squareback, and now have a Mk4 1.4.
The Mk4 1.4 16v engine gives about 100bhp without mods.
I have to admit that I haven't seen many Squarebacks with anything wilder than a G40 conversion.
I think it's something to do with the fact that to run a big engine in there, the running gear would need swapping and chopping to fit into a narrow polo.
Always fancied a VR6 in my Mk2 Polo with old skool 13inch rims. Real sleeper.
-
I suppose I should find a polo and take some measurements from under the bonnet
but I fancy something different to the norm bling bling golf etc so my thoughts are rat look polo estate
-
A rat look squareback would be cool. That's what I wanted, but never got started on it.
There are a couple of nice looking squarebacks around, but I've not seen anything with a big engine in it.

I know some one who put a G40 that had been fettled to about 160bhp into a mark 1 polo (70's one), he embarassed an Audi TT on the motorway!!
i know that has nothing to do with what ur asking but just thought i would enlighten you with that!!
-
it seem's the poor polo is more or less ignored in the go faster department
I guess it's the smaller engine bay but I'll do some measureing when my local breaker has another polo in
