my car has been pinking for about 2 months now when warmed up and under load,i booked it in at the local gay rage for them to have a look at,they said we cant do it because the dizzy is seized,i thought if you moved the dizzy on a mk3 the ecu would correct itself what else can i look out for, before the pinking i changed the water temp sensor, rotor, dizzy cap, plugs, timing belt(im sure this is lined up correctly) could any of this affect it.
a nudge in the right direction would be cool

What engine mate?

Dizzie seized?????? In what way?
Yes which engine? Coz if its a 2.0litre 16v then it could be the old favourite. ECU relay or the Fuel injection relay, or both!

sorry its a 1997 2.0 8v gti agg eng code,i have changed the fuel relay, the dizzy he said is seized in the block.

So what he's saying is he can't remove the distributor from the engine block after they removed the locking bolt dont see why that would effect the car tbh unless its fooked below, plenty of WD40 a gentle tap with a hammer and screwdriver in the right places will get the scurvy dog out, if your anywhere near me ill come over and stick it on the code reader see if there's any nasty suprises waiting in the shallows.
