Title: GTI Superdrives with Waze app....
Post by: Watts on 14 September 2018, 20:31
"Iconic GTI Waze icon" - has anyone else had this email from VW? If so, can someone please enlighten me as I've no idea what it is or does. I don't understand :embarrassed: Thanks

I’ve driven one of the routes. It was awful. All average speed cameras and 50mph zones. It was a complete waste of time tbh.

But what does the app do and how does it work? Does it need to work in the car's sat nav or does it just tell you what it thinks are good drives? I don't want to download it if it's a big old pile of pony....

It’s basically just another sat nav app. I found that the routes weren't always accurate. It’s specifically aimed at saving journey time apparently. The gti superdrives are just a bit of a gimmick to make you download it imo.

Give it a go, it doesn't cost anything. There's some fairly decent drives. Tbh, I think they're trying to compete with TomTom, they have something similar.

I do actually rate Waze as one of the better SatNavs, it's one of 3 that I use everyday. Google maps is by far the best then I'd say Waze then my truck nav by TomTom. If only Google did truck navigation :(
