Title: Spacer and bolts

Hi I did search for spacers and lots info, however I'm not sure when u buy them they will give u proper length bolts? I thinking 10mm rear and 5 mm front. Also do I need get new locking bolts too, if so assume case of measuring existing bolts and adding extra dimensions? But do locking bolts come in that many sizes?

Not sure on the bolts but the golf wheels are very sucked in, the flush kit for the golf has 15mm front and 20mm rear if I remember right. Remember to inform your insurance though and you need to find a friendly insurance provider.

Our most popular combination is 10mm front and 15mm rear.

I used the same spec spacers as Kalimon links to above.
Personally I didn’t use lockers either but a lot of that depends where you live and where you leave the car.

McGard traditionally seem popular and come in loads of different sizes. Just order the same sizes as the space bolts.

Incidentally putting a bit of black tape over the bolt head stops the shiny silver of the spacer bolts showing through the nut cap hole  :smiley:

Slightly off topic - not spacers-related, but it is locking bolt-related.

When I changed the wheels on my car and declared the change to my insurer, they needed me to confirm I had locking bolts on the wheels.

I don’t live in a high theft risk area, and the wheels aren’t particularly high value either.

you are quite correct.

However once your wheels are stolen they'd have awful trouble proving you didn't have lockers fitted!  :laugh:

I've found different insurers and even different call handlers to be different on different days. It's all hit and miss.
The last couple cars I've actually found it harder finding an insurer who will approve having spacers fitted at all and so mine have been sat in boxes the last few years and I'm just running it as boring standard.

It could do with spacers running standard wheels though  :whistle:
