Title: Screen Problems
Post by: Aidey on 01 July 2018, 13:38
This last week the screen on my sat nav/ radio unit is turning itself off, anyone else had this?
Even when using the reversing cam it goes blank, with carplay, music on can still hear everything just no display, annoying fault, could it be the recent heat?

Yes, hold it in and then some more and then keep holding it until the VW logo reappears. Worth a try 👍

I've just had to do mine twice over the last couple of days and it was sitting in 33° heat in a car park.

The screen will be ok it'll be the processor and gubbins in the glovebox that'll be getting hot. Out of interest have you turned the air con vent off on the glove box? I have but I might open it and let some chilled air in.

back with a vengeance today, tried the reset again, nothing doing. Its not that hot today either, the unit is not responding, and if it does its about 30-40 seconds behind , no reverse cam, i guess a trip to the dealers is in

When I first got my car the same was happening with my screen. I left it in to VW and they performed a software update which thankfully fixed the issue. Worth getting done if the problem persists.
