I’ve got a 2016 (16) Golf GTD & a guy at work also has one & he was saying he’s had a call about a recall on his front brake discs, apparently there’s a cracking risk, has any other owners heard about this??
At 25000 miles in it would be a bonus to get the discs replaced if there’s a recall.
I’m going to the dealer tomorrow about a faulty key fob so I’ll ask while I’m there but I just thought I’d ask on here too.

Not heard, but only had mine for a couple of weeks so VW may not have me as the new owner. I'm watching this thread...

You can check to see if your car is subject to any safety related recalls on the VW website;

Nice opportunity for them to sort out any emissions cheating issues on the quiet when cars are in for another recall
-
There aren't any emissions issues with the Mk7's.

Nope of course there isn't silly me. We know that VW only cheated on a small proportion of their cars produced and only for a short time span. How could I ever think they likely, have cheated on every diesel car that they produced.

Is anyone else getting a bit fed up with idiotic comments on every forum and media platform about VW emissions crap. The amount of ill informed comments from people who haven't bothered to do any research what so ever is a bit pathetic. Didn't think I'd see any it on a forum like this!!

Thanks for the link, I’m all clear according to that, will still ask when I’m at the dealer tomorrow to be sure to be sure.

I know what you mean, I was looking at the new Touareg on twitter yesterday & it was rife with the comments you mentioned.

That’s the reputation that VW diesels have earned in afraid. It would be a brave man who would bet too much money on any vw diesel being fully legal and compliant.
-
Yeah but it's Nissan, Renault, BMW, Mercedes to name a few but it's only ever VW that people whine about. Unfortunately they never get the same bad press.
-
Yes totally true. Many manufacturers have been cheating and bypassing rules but its the VAG companies that have taken the major hit with VW being top of the tree for the bad publicity. Guess they were the first to get caught and maybe one of the bigger offenders so unfortunately the bad reputation has been earned and sticks.

Well after a visit to the dealer I e got no outstanding recalls to be sorted.
Car has to be booked in for a day to have the fob problem looked into.
Had a look at the new Touareg while I was there, lovely motor & the size of the sat Nav/infotainment screen is massive, anyone know what size it is??
-
Looks great doesn't it? Quite like the look of the new Touareg. The centre screen is apparently 15 inches, so quite a bit bigger than anything currently offered in the Golf.
As for dieselgate, ZZZZZZzzzzzz
