I seem to have an issue were my auto wipers are staying on intermittent when the screen is clear. It seems the sensor thinks it’s raining when it not, even the rear wiper goes when I put it in reverse.
Any ideas? Screen and sensor is clean although I noticed the screen wash does leave a bit residue at the sides.
-
Your rear wiper is set to come on when in reverse but this can be switched off from the MFD.
-
Couldn’t remember if it only done it with the rain sensor picking something up, anyway it’s the front I’m worried about!
-
Is the screen in front of the sensor definitely clear? If there’s something on it, that could cause it.
-
How old are wipers?
Had this before when they smear, they just stay on full even in a light drizzle.
-
Looks absolutely fine but will give it a clean with glass polish to make sure.
-
Have the screen a good clean but still not resolved also my wife had the car on a run yesterday and the wipers(even though set to off) went up halfway themselves so guessing the wiper switch or motor is the fault.
-
Not 100% and I'm not near my car but...
Is there not a setting that means you can turn auto wipers on/off in the infotainment system? Same place as the choice to have the rear wiper come on in reverse?
Hope that helps!

You can turn them off in the menu, tried doing than them back on again but no difference still going intermittent all the time.
-
I checked the menu's on my way home last night - without looking at the manual, I'd guess if you turn off the auto wipers feature, it would change the auto setting to intermittent.
Not a clue after that apart from something with the sensor, but that's just guessing.
-
Have you tried adjusting the sensitivity of the auto wipe up?
-
The little slide switch on top? Yeah it just changes the speed the intermittent wipe.
Google doesn't throw up much either, I did find one similar and that turned out to be the wiring to the sensor my only concern is the wiper coming on when the stalk was at off which makes me think switch.
I can see it being a pain in the arse to get it diagnosed.
