My Indium Grey Mk7.5 went on Friday last week as it was a company car and had a change of jobs.
It’s been a fantastic car to run and was sad to drop it off...

But every cloud, and in this case a Tungsten Silver lining...
Here is my new company car... 16 Miles on the clock so feels very different to my last GTI.
Literally arrived this afternoon so will be detailing it this weekend.
Here’s a couple of snaps this evening:

Looking forward to getting to know it. Already miss the upshift parps but hoping it will come alive when run it.

Looking great Jim. Tungsten's a great underrated colour, but then i'm biased...slightly
Time to update the sig...

Looks like Limestone grey in them pictures.
Must be the light :undecided:

Yes, it does look a little like Limestone Grey to me too, but lighting conditions can play tricks. Jim’s ‘old’ Indium Grey GTI in the first picture looks a bit like Carbon Grey to me.
Maybe I need to take a trip to Specsavers.........

Looks great Jim, love the colour! Be interesting to here your thoughts in due course on PP vs non-PP
-
Looks great Jim and hope the new job is going well!

Cheers guys. Yeah it does looks a bit like Limestone in those pics. The sun was out at 5pm. Just got back from popping out and it’s looks much silvery now..

Yes all good thanks Andy, only 2 days in but very happy
Will put a few thoughts together once I’ve done much than 30 Miles!

Both 7.5 PP and both DSG? If so in what way does the car feel different? Plain curiosity

Previous was std with 6-DSG and this one Performance with 7-DSG.
I’ll wait to comment properly although I know a previous thread did the same comparison.
Intially though the car feels much light, steering even in sport doesn’t seem as weighty. No DSG farts so missing those already but more engine and exhaust noise and less fake noise in the cabin (even in sport).
Discovered earlier - no under seat storage drawers?! Kept my ice scraper in there

Sootchucker discovered this and I believe he fitted the under seat drawers from his mk7 GTD into his new mk7.5 GTI

I see, interesting. So the DSG7 comes with the PP exclusively? I thought it was the default (and only) DSG option in the 7.5.
No idea why you lost your farts  but this has to do with the ECU map rather than the box (considering they are both DSG), and I would not think the PP has a less aggressive map than the non-PP, weird...
I still think I'd exploit the chance of having to change cars to sample an R though, second 7.5 GTI in a row shows some commitment!

Stunning mate absolutely love that colour
How you finding the PP upgrades so far? The gearbox just gets better and faster with more miles
Just those dsg farts missing but the exhaust is way louder and has proper growl to it once it beds in
-
I'm obviously biased but Tungsten is the best colour.
-
AS McMaddy said, underseat drawers it seems were deleted mid/late 2017. I have indeed added them (and it's a piece of pi55), took me all of 20 minutes each side and hides that horrible gap.
In the end I didn't strip them off the GTD, as my dealer supplied a new set for me (as I said I'd fit them).

Biased you may be but it’s a fact!

Hi. I am luck chap colleting my new car on Sat. My mk6 has drawers, and woudl like them on the GTI. Do you happen to know the part numbers for them etc? And were they expensive (if you don't mind me asking)?
-
I’ve got the prices and part numbers at work bud, so I’ll post tomorrow.

I’d be interested to get a price. Feel like VW need a email asking where they’ve gone!

Will be doing full clean at some point this weekend but managed to fit the footrest I ordered the other week

Yeah hard to tell much difference yet, couple of trips to work and back in traffic.
Definitely can hear the difference in the exhaust, looking forward to running it in.
Gearbox seems to shift much earlier even in Sport, such as pulling away it shifts from S1 to S2 almost straight away where my previous one held on more. Probably a good thing to be fair.

Impressive vacuuming work there Jim to get those go-faster stripes on the mat

OK Guys forgot to put up the part numbers and prices of the drawers yesterday (apologies). Here they are below. Not cheap but these are dealer list prices (excluding VAT), so if you have a good relation with your dealer you may be able to get some discount.

One of my friends found some at this site and ordered a pair for the bargain price of €49 for the pair ! Not sure if they still have any in stock but you could drop them a quick line. His arrived and they were in mint condition. He only needed to purchase the speed nuts to secure them to the undersides of the seat and he was done (BTW the Caddy ones are the same as the MK7 / 7.5 Golf).

I liked the under seat drawers but didn’t like them enough to spend £100 + on parts!

Thanks! No vacuum used for these though...
-
Would the drawers from a mk7 fit a 7.5? I’ve got them in the match that’s being traded in and if it’s easy to do I might have a look at it. Doubt the dealers would notice they were missing ;)

Thanks very much Sootchucker.
I'm off to pick up my new baby in an hour, and will ask if they can do me something re the prices.

Yes and it's in a different thread talking about the missing drawers on some of the newer ones coming through.
