Has anyone had an issue with their rear wiper, I’ve just been out driving in the rain and realised my rear wiper is not working and won’t even wash / wipe.....it works fine when I put the car into reverse but just doesn’t work if I move the lever
My car only has 900 miles on it so first time I’ve tried to use it

Never use my rear wiper ever and turned it off for reversing too. Doesn't help you any but sounds like a dodgy stalk switch.

Have you removed the mirrors too? Might as well...

Totally different Fred. You could probably remove the rear wiper and never miss it.

It could be a coding issue. Lot of things on our new Tig stopped working, rear wiper included. It turned out that the BCM had a fit and needed all the coding resetting.
-
If it's working in reverse though it's probably not the bcm. A quick scan with vcds could help.

Visibility out of my rear window in bad weather is dreadful. I suppose it's down to the hatchback design. The whole tailgate gets covered in road grime. I would be lost without my rear wiper.

Where about are you in the south coast? I have OBD11 in Crawley area...

This is my rear wiper now

I have 90% tints and I know just how much damage to the rear window you can cause by using the rear wiper. It’s only in horrendous weather conditions that my rear visibility is compromised and it’s no big deal if you’re driving like a normal person.

Thanks for the offer, unfortunately I’m over in the New Forest direction
I’ll get it booked in at the local dealers and see what they can find

I've got gtechniq glass protection stuff on my windows so nothing really sticks.
