hi there im puzzled to know what those spring loaded triangular clips are underneath the parcel shelf are for , don't know if they do anything cheers

On the plastic trim in the car? Photo might help.
I guess to stop the shelf from rattling and/or to locate it in place.

that's right , strange because the parcel shelf doesn't actually sit on the clipi

You can raise the boot floor and push it past those, so that it is held up to give you easy access below.
