Hi guys
My motor has a scuff on the kick plate and it is annoying me. Does anyone know where to get a replacement brushed section or am I going to have to cough up for a whole ne kick plate at £139. Grrr Plus they are on back order.
i might try re-finishing it with a scotch pad and glass finer stick.
All help welcome.

I can’t even see a scuff??
-
Me neither, although I was initially looking at the picture on my phone, so a small picture. Still can’t see it looking at a larger picture on my iPad though.

😂 the scuff is on the other one. Just took a photo of that to show what but I meant. Sorry for the confusion.

Is that standard? Both of my GTI’s have had a red led strip along the middle section but no GTi logo ?

Tho OP might have a Clubsport as that looks like the one I have on mine?

It’s a clubsport S Guys. Thanks for all your help. Looks like the only option is a whole panel replaced. The parts guys said be thankful that it’s not the red LED at £300 odd a side. Mental!!

If it's just a scuff try a machine polisher on it

Exactly! My Dremel with the polishing bit and a bit of #2 car polish would handle that...for about 50p.

Good idea guys. Ive been watching youtube videos on how to re-finish brushed stainless steal using 120 grit oxide paper and red scotch write pad so ill give it a bash next week. Happy to save £150 per corner. The parts guy stated full piece only. You can't buy the stainless insert separately.
Any ideas where to buy a dremel and tools at a good price?

I would use a machine polisher if you don't have one find a wee body shop and ask them to give it a try with G3

Thanks for that mate. Yeah got a DA polisher with loads of pads and different compounds. Will take a few photos when I manage to get time to refinish the area.
Cheers
