There is a space for a warning triangle in the boot lid, just above the latch, but no actual warning triangle. I took delivery on 1st March from a UK dealer. If one isn't supplied (and I believe they are a legal necessity at least in Europe) where can I get one that will fit the neat space on the boot lid?

Never had one with any of my cars.
Maybe try dealer accessories?

Me neither, I've seen a few on eBay though for about a tenner

Didn’t get one. Kept my Audi one, must put it in the car.

Thanks for the replies. I need to get one. The old one from my Mercedes, traded in as scrappage in exchange for the gti, is too big to fit the space. I guess for vw not to provide one in the special space they create might be described as penny pinching.

Not standard for UK cars... might be elsewhere... but then again, other UK standard items aren't standard there.
I'd sooner pay a tenner for a warning triangle than a grand for LED lights :)

Hardly penny pinching when it's not a legal requirement in this country. Considering you don't get lower engine covers, covers for screws on the doors and in some cases isofix covers VW are not going to provide something free if it's not necessary.

Bit of a bargain there

Golf is the first car I've had in 20 years that didn't have one. My other VW's had them.

I bought this one. It fits millimeter perfect in the boot lip compartment.
