Title: Driver's side window "wiper" question
Post by: Excession_OCP on 10 February 2018, 19:08
Hi all,

Hope you're all well and managing to avoid the plethora of potholes that are currently afflicting our nation's roads!

I have a question regarding the squeegee wiper thing that cleans the window on the driver's side when it is opened and closed - mine seems to be afflicted with grime or mould or something and all it achieves is a smearing of said grime all over the window rather than cleaning it. What's the best way of cleaning this so that it doesn't smeg up my window any more? I'm not fussed about getting it into a state where it cleans the window; I'd settle for being able to see out of it.

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried a pressure washer?

Try some panel wipe/ipa on them.

Agent Orange is pretty effective on algae if you’ve got any lying about in your shed.

I use my Turtlewax Glass Cleaner for anything on the screen that smears (especially in the dark/rain).
I always give it a blast after i've been to the touchless (snow foam) car wash. They love leaving a good film of wax on the screen.

Thanks all, I'll give the panel wipe suggestion a go. I ran out of Agent Orange the other day after killing the neighbour's Leylandii.
