My Golf R is due its 1st service in the next 40 days or so. Just wondering whether it might be a good idea to get the VW Service Plan at £15.99 a month (Total £287.82) which then covers the first 2 services. Worth it?
-
I reckon so.
-
I got it for mine.
Car has to be under 1yr old. Saves about £120 they told me.

Yep that’s what they told me. I have the plan on the GTI and will order it on the r when it arrives. Decent value I think.

There’s also a two year plan for cars over 1 year old, but the savings on the normal servicing costs are much less.
- service plan; 18 Monthly payments of £25.99 = £467.82
- if paying for two fixed price services; one minor (£164) and one major (£329) = £493
- saving with service plan; £25.18
Neither the service plan nor the fixed price services include a brake fluid change; the first brake fluid change should be done when the car’s 3 years old and currently costs £64.

Thanks for everybody's input on this. I think I'll go ahead and buy this. Now just got to decide which VW garage to use. Anybody had any dealings with Robinson's in Peterborough or Stamford?

If your car is PCP they should give you this free

Sometimes they bundle it, but not always.

Thanks, bought outright though.

Disappointing experience with Robinsons at Stamford when trying to purchase a car, shame as I like to support the smaller garages. Peterborough service experience was nothing special but I think they are all the same. I now use M J Warner at Buntingford but probably to far South for you.

Yeah, bit too far to go. I didn't really like the Stamford one when I went in once to enquire about the service plan - they just said there's no point and didn't really help at all. I think I'll go for the Peterborough one.
