Hi Guys - looking for a little advice. 2016 GTD with the Nav Pro (8" Screen MIB II).
It's pretty much behaving itself (just a couple of random gremlins), but when listening to DAB radio, I have configured the Screen icons how I want them (some downloaded automatically, some were added). No jokes about my music tastes please , - in my first 6 presets, I have Absolute Radio 80's and 90's (presets 4 & 5) and Gold Manchester (preset 1). The Icon's on the main preset screen all display fine as below.

The Problem I have i that when you change screens to the better radio text display (where you get a bigger Icon for the station logo and larger text for the track playing) by pressing the "view" button above, my logos are messed up. Most are OK, but for Absolute radio (both stations), I get the "Gold" radio station logo (even though the preset display icon is correct), and for the actual Gold radio station I get....nothing - just a blank place holder.
I'm thinking of doing a reset and was wondering if anyone had done this before and if you could just do it for the radio side of the unit rather than the whole unit (so Id loose my Navigation settings and destinations etc). Advice please ?

Yes you can reset individual bits like just radio
-
It won't make a difference Andrew even resetting it. It's got something to do with the logo itself. Does it mine too.
-
Don’t you have to download logos?
-
2nd generation Nav pro auto loads station logos.
-
Auto loads is a bit of a misnomer. It has some defined from the factory...
-
I did think that some are pre loaded and “quirky” stations you have to do yourself, I don’t go on dab often (maybe twice in 5 months) but some logos are there some aren’t
-
After absolute eighties moved mine has dropped the logo. I could manually fix it but can't be bothered
-
They aren't from factory it's the radio station that broadcasts the logo. Some do and some don't and the ones that don't need the logo downloading.
-
From the Golf manual :
Station logos may be pre-installed in the Infotainment system for some frequency bands or may be imported via a data medium (e.g. SD card).

And:
https://media.info/radio/discussions/radio-chatter/logos-for-your-volkswagen-or-skoda-car-radio
"In Europe, I gather some stations update their logos over the air. I'm unaware of anyone in the UK doing this"
-
I recently changed a few station logos on mine as they were incorrect.
You can download UK radio station logos from http://infotainment.phonostar.de/images/vwag/eur/GBR.zip (http://infotainment.phonostar.de/images/vwag/eur/GBR.zip) and copy the required logos onto an SD card

Major radio stations broadcast the logo in the UK.

Well I did a reset on the Radio portion at lunchtime and re-programmed in my presets again. Most automatically downloaded the logos within a few minutes, but interestingly neither "Gold" or "Absolute Radio 80s" did. I then popped in an SD card with my logo's on, and selected the correct logos for the missing two stations.
When I went into info view (the logo and the track text view), the both displayed a larger version of the preset logo (hurray I thought, sorted at last). However after about 5 minutes, the Absolute Radio 80s" larger icon re-populated itself with the "Gold" logo, and the "Gold" radio station info view - repopulated again with a blank image place holder (this is despite the preset logo's staying the same). I can only guess it must be something that comes in over the air that's over-riding the logo's I put in in the Info view ?
-
I'm guessing it's to do with factory presets being wrong... Not sure how it figures it out but as I said I do know that when absolute eighties moved dab channel it no longer applies the logo, which must mean the factory auto configuration works on channel band.. I expect gold has swapped since Vw set your car up.
-
But if you assign a logo manually then the only way it doesn't show properly will be over the air broadcast. Manual assign will over ride anything built in from factory.

Resurrecting an old thread. After going some investigation it does indeed seem that the Nav Pro (and maybe others) comes with a pre-installed "data Base" of UK stations. Problem though (as Fred mentioned above) is that many station move around the bands so where one station was (when the car was built), is now occupied my a new station (case in point - "Gold radio" being displayed as "Absolute Radio").
That being the case, is there a way (via VCDS or any other means for that matter), or getting the unit to "update" it's database to account for the swapping of channels in the intervening months), and thus display the logo's correctly ?
-
I don't think so, its in the configuration files for the NavPro... possibly a software update might have it? Assuming of course that VW bother to keep those files up to date...
