I did post this under "Cosmetic & bodywork matters" but not sure if anyone actually views this area as much.
I need to get the attached repaired on my mk7.5. Not sure if its the splitter or the bumper? Also would it be easier to replace the part or get a body shop to repair?

It is actually part of the front grill - the black bit that is split.
It is a whole bumper off job and a replacement grill.
Pain in the butt to take off but goes back on quite easy enough.

Ok thanks.
Ah that's a bummer. Dreading to think what the cost for a new front bumper is
Will probably attempt to fit myself. Shouldn't be too difficult right?!

Your front bumper is repairable but the black plastic grill in between isn't. Just had mine replaced amongst other things after hitting a pheasant.

Damn those pheasants!
Can I ask where you got the plastic grill piece from?

It was all sorted by the dealer. I needed entire front grill and also thinner one like in your picture but also new intercooler and new front cross member for radar sensor and outside temp sensor with all the plastic trims etc. Bill was a hefty 1k.

Jeez! Sounds like that pheasant was built like a tank!

Yeah the ba4tard was still lying in the front of the car when I pulled over!!

Had to change the grille a couple of years ago on my GTD. Surprisingly the black "honeycomb" grille from the dealer was only about £25-£30 if I remember correctly. As has been said above it's a bumper off job. Fortunately that was the only damage.

it isn't that hard to diy if you know your way around cars. I had changed mine plus other plastic pieces near the radiator and the ACC radar cover which got all damaged after hitting a pheasant. I got all the parts from my local dealer. The grill part no is 5G0 853 677D and was around £35.
