Hopefully he's giving it a complete 'elf check

Boom!
-
He appeared to me in an alcohol induced dream last night.Told me to trade in my GTD for an R in August 2018.
-
He offered to wash mine in the supermarket carpark last week. I told him to ...cough
-
He brought me an OBDeleven - cleared a couple of stored fault codes and started a bit of research for turning features on etc.
-
He brought me a VW USB-premiumkabel, one of those things I wouldn't have bought myself but having a logo'd cable brings a
-
Well, Santa brought me some black gloss eyelids. R blue valve caps, Stainless footrest and Stainless Lockwood door sill protectors  oh, and some aluminium pressed personalised number plates.
-
He bought me an air blaster sidekick. Tried I out on various guests (more to my amusement than theirs!).
Roll on some nice weather.

Great little piece of kit. With a bit of practice, I’ve found it’s powerful to dry pretty much all the water off my car when I’ve washed it; a drying towel deals with any remaining water droplets.
The Sidekick is particularly good at dealing with all those water traps:- door mirror housings, grille, tailgate handle, around the light clusters, wheels. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with it.

Thanks chaps, although the current forecast is pissing down with a touch of stark bollock freezing.

How are you finding it? For the money it really is a great bit of kit as long as you don't jump in without doing some research first.

You won’t regret it 👍 it was a god send on my sensitive Lapiz Blue paintwork when I hadn’t got the time to dry it manually. Also they are fantastic as others have said at blasting away the annoying dribbles from door mirrors, lights, bumpers etc 😁

To be honest, not done much ore than connect it and clear codes. I'll be giving it a proper blast later, hopefully I'll not screw it up lol.

Just make sure you back up before you change stuff. That way if you do feck it up you can revert back.

My old Sidekick still going strong then?

I've never heard of the "Sidekick" until I saw them mentioned here in the last few days? A worthwhile tool to get one's hands on I take it ?

Metrovac Sidekick is a very worthwhile investment, for all the lovely (not) golf water traps and great for drying wheels. Not quite up to doing the whole car but very good piece of kit to have. I had one and only sold it (to JB GTI) as I traded up to a Metrovac Vac n Blo machine which is a vacuum and blower (more powerful than the Sidekick).

It is. I wouldn’t be without it 👍 Now thinking about a water filter system too
Iron out, bilberry wheel cleaner citrus pre wash and ph neutral snow foam ready for action with my new autobrite snowfoam lance and a SwissVax valeting kit I was given will be given its first go.
I am picking my new GTi up next Friday 😁 Already bought Lockwood sill protectors a new set of VW dust caps, Red Led footwell lights and going to re use my isofix covers, door mirror covers and front engine mount cover. #allprepared ✅

Water filter is the best detailing purchase I’ve ever made. Definitely something to give serious thought to if you have hard water and a colour that shows up water spots. Sounds like you’ve got some great kit all ready to be used for the new GTI. Good luck with the Cole Goin, hope all goes well. Look forward to seeing pics of the new car.

Where about a it West Yorkshire? The Yorkshire Dales are a lovely drive and not too far away. Well worth a visit if you're up this way.

I've just moved away from snow foaming and gone with Bilt Hamber Auto Foam through a 5l pump sprayer - much better results and less fiddling about. The current setup I'm using is the best I've used. Would highly recommend, especially the drying towel.

We're staying in Haworth, near Keighley, we love it here and visit up to 3 times a year and have been doing so for over 20 years! This has been one of our lazier visits, more pub orientated than walking
