Title: Footwell lights on a GTTDI
Post by: Da21982 on 17 December 2017, 20:09
Can any one shed some light (no pun intended) on the issue I'm having. I have just purchased a 64 plate GTTDI bluemotion tech. I have the ambient lighting on the 2 front doors, puddle lights and folding mirrors I have foot well lights installed on the front but I don't have them installed on the back is this standard.

Thanks

No footwell lights in the rear, it is possible to fit them though if you are handy with car electrics.

Don't have an issue fitting them that's the easy part I had a mk 3 vrs fitted a kit to that about 4 year ago I'm just curious really as to why their in the front and not the rear.

No idea but would guess cost. Doesn't bother me.

Welcome to the forum btw, what spec did you go for?

As others have said, none of the Golf models come with rear footwell lighting. Having said that, the cut outs for the lights are there in the seat frame lower squab base. I added them to mine with a no cut plug and play harness from Kuaftec.

Likewise, the active door warning lights have never been fitted as standard to the MK7 Golf, but again with a little bit of electrical knowledge, it's fairly straightforward to add them :

Looking at getting the rear foot well lights from boltsports. We’re did you get the door entry lights from and
If memory serves me right they just need wiring in and coding to door control units.
