Into the last three months of my GTD PCH, looking to buy a GTI again and have been checking discounts via DTD, Orange Wheels and Car Wow.
Car Wow have stated there is a VW price increase effective 20th December, I cannot find any further details on the web.
Anybody know?
Cheers

Wouldn’t surprise me, I’ve kept an eye on GTI (new price) since ordering mine in July and they’ve not increased yet.
-
Usually is around this time of year... probably to try and get you to order before end of the year... certainly they pressurised me about ordering then, which I was adamant I wasn't going to!
-
I have been tracking prices as was looking at swapping to Golf R and checked week before last and the dealer said there was no price increase then but was expecting one soon.
-
I've been contacted by the dealer that my car has been into that last few times wanting to sell me an R because they know I have the choice of buying my sister's Clubsport. He said that the price will be going up in the new year.
-
If sales are a little slow, don't be surprised to see discounts rise to nullify the price rise.

Also the end of the month is always the best time to buy a car.

DTD confirmed a price increase from Wednesday so i pulled the trigger and ordered the GTI;
3 door manual
Isaac Blue Steel
19" Brescias
Dynaudio
Rear View Camera
Very happy with DTD discount, Orange Wheels got close but Carwow were mostly miles away.

You won’t be disappointed with that spec! Or the alloys

Price Increase from VW but the DTD price seems to have reduced.
I priced up a 3 Dr Performance GTI, Dynaudio and 19" Brescias in white or red (costs the same) with Manual/DSG for comparison back in early December/late November and had the following
Manual £26'259 DSG £27'259
Orangewheels on the manual where £26'460 at the time
Today I get manual £25'879 DSG £26'879 for orders placed between 20th Dec and 31st Jan on DTD

Well spotted. GTD prices seem to be down by a few hundred too. About 17.4% discount, not to be sniffed at...

Just checked the VW website and wasn't the Deposit contribution £1000 previously from VW, it is now showing £1500.
On the same subject I was using the VW finance comparison tool earlier this year and the List Price of the 3dr DSG Perf was £30'850 it is now showing £30'990 (+£140) - the deposit has been increased by £500 by VW but the residuals have been reduced - previously £11'664 and now £11'204. as well as an interest rate increase from 4.9% to 5.1%.
-
The deposit contribution is better, however they’re not making any less profit if you complete the PCP because it’s off set by the increase in interest rate, very sneaky. Could be great if you take the deposit contribution and run though

I was getting my car serviced today at Des Winks, Scarborough and they have an R and a Gti in the showroom for sale presumably for immediate delivery ?
-
Ooo, tempting.

Could be £500 better off then not due to pick mine up until 5th Jan and not signed any paperwork yet 👍

What did you reckon to Des Winks for servicing?
-
It was just the oil change service. I was told an hour and a half but it was over two hours so a long wait in the showroom ! Staff very friendly service seemed fine. I have used Lookers before and DW marginally better I think. Whilst there not one other customer came through the door . Sales staff bores out of their minds .
