Message came up on the display between the main dials indicating a fault with the lights that come on when you turn a corner. Basically they are now not working.
Anyone had a problem with those and was the fix easy (and cheap)
Booked into my excellent local garage, who has Bosch diagnostic equipment, on Wednesday.
Hopefully they can fix it, I’ll let you know the outcome.

Bulb(s) gone?
-
Usually get error message when bulb has gone.
-
yeah, you get quite a doom laden and expensive fix sounding message when it's probably just a cheap H7 cornering light that's gone
-
Really common on the mk7... Get them to swap them both and save you time and money. The other one will blow in days from now...
The mk7.5 has led ones integral with the led headlights... I wonder what happens when those blow...gonna be expensive
-
Yeah mine started coming on today, it's the bulb that points sideways as you turn at slow speeds.

Cheaper to replace them yourself and easy job that takes less than 5minutes.

OP assuming you referring to the cornering bulbs, i.e the yellowy middle light with the reflector bulb that come on when you steer left and right and are on in reverse gear. If so, why not replace with brighter white H7 bulbs as many of us do. I replaced mine with Philips Diamond Vision bulbs and as above it takes 5 mins. Much better match for the xenons too.

problem solved! It was the bulbs as a few of you thought it might be.

I think they are the same as I had in my CC, must get round to putt ing them in the Golf.

I swapped mine with LED versions and whilst there is an almost unnoticable drop in light levels emitted, they match the LED fogs (and my 6000k XENON bulbs) perfectly.
They were only cheap ebay bulbs too.

Drop in light? I have fitted LED bulbs and they are MUCH brighter than the stock ones.

Which led bulbs did both of you get?

I got these error free ones and because they were dirt cheap from Fleabay I experimented to make them fit.
The heat-sink needed "adjusting" to get the back cap on the lights but as they are illuminated for short periods it doesn't need the heat-sink. The built in fans still work to aid any cooling that is needed. They have been in over a year now. I was going to get another pair to do it neatly but they work better than expected to are still in there.

Whereas I got something like these...

...and I think the one's I got were even cheaper than that. Just did it as an experiment really. Probably better to go with the other option, even with the need to modify it.

That flickering when they are turning off would drive me mad.
-
That is the shutter of the camera like LED's flicker when filmed. No flickering they just dim out like the Halogen to the human eye.

You know I was just thinking if that was the case this afternoon.
