Just had my first service done for the clubsport S . £151 at inchcape Telford, was told there would be some recall work to be done on the auto handbrake , software update, not had or heard any problems with the system.
Also when getting the paperwork they have given me a free plug in device to plug in the obd port which after an app is downloaded to computer/phone then tells them when I need work doing etc, also records my speeds and where I’ve been ,soon decided I shall not be using that .

Yeah I have one of those VW plug things given to me... I don't think I'm plugging it in either...
I know why they are doing it, it gives the dealers diagnostic and use data which enables them to hassle you about paying for servicing etc
On the other hand, its really nasty big brother in my book.
Trust them? Like Equifax?

I booked my clubsport S is booked in for January for its first service and they said the same to me - requires a software update for the handbrake
They are also giving me this plug in thing but i wont be using it.
I wont be plugging it in thank you very much

How odd, do they really think people will happily plug in?....my CS is due in for its first oil service, thanks for heads up on handbrake software, I'll mention it when booking

I bought my CSS in February but the on board computer and the dealer keeps telling me I need to book a service ... what shall I do ? Is it ok to wait 12 months as was probably just triggered by PDi or book it in after just 10 months ...?!

Whats your mileage?
Book it in when it reaches 10,000 miles or one year after you took delivery - whichever comes first.
-
10,000 miles or one year after first registration, I think it is.

The VW Connect thing is free to anyone that wants one. Had it for a few months now but after a few days forgot about it.
-
im not letting them plug it in. can't see the point in it at all other than them monitoring people

Just had my CS in for its first service this morning, no recall work to do. I even asked them about the hand brake and they said nothing needed updating...
