Title: Haynes Manual for Cabriolet
Post by: goodo on 07 October 2005, 10:28
I have a Mk2 golf haynes manual, and it's fair to say that although some of the stuff on the engine is right, most of the stuff doesn't apply. I also looked at the early mark 1 haynes manual (including cabriolet), but it didn't really seem to apply either. I have a 91 convertible, so I guess it takes bits and pieces from the new golf (Mk2) and the bodywork/suspension etc from the first. So is that blue haynes manual worth getting for the bodywork aspects or is there a better manual for late mk1 cabs?

p.s. Does anyone know where the idle adjustment screw is on DX engine K-Jetronic? I have found a screw on the bulkhead side of the throttle body and that seems to work, but if I adjust it too much the fuel economy goes right down. Am I actually fiddling with the CO mixture, and if so where the hell is the idle screw? A photo would help.

Cheers

Goodo

The best manual to buy for the cabs would be a bentley manual. Haynes are next to useless for them.
