Title: Judder when accelerating hard from standstill
Post by: Charliemk6 on 30 November 2017, 10:53
Hi Guys,

I have recently purchased a 2009 GTI and recently noticed a Judder/Knock when accelerating hard in first from low speed/standstill.  (totally fine all other times)

Coming from a smaller engine car I thought at first it might just be the wheels losing traction but now think its something else due to the intensity of the Judder.   It is only under heavy accelration and comes from the drivers side I think.

I have just had an inspection service and all has come back ok but I forgot to mention this at the time.

Can anyone shed any light of what it might be and if it could be anything serious?

Many thanks,

Charlie.

*EDIT* just found a post which refers to this as 'Tramping' - think that is probably what it is.

Many thanks.

Sounds like tramping. It is a bit shocking when you first experience it.
