Title: Handbrake recall/update
Post by: mkviken on 28 November 2017, 16:58
Just booked my CSS in for its first service and was told it is getting a handbrake recall done as well

Has anyone else had this recall done?

They said it was just software and not mechanical?

They’re also giving me an iPhone plug FOC as well for the new app. Was going to see about getting the Apple car play unlocked as well

46G7 Service Campaign, it is a straight forward software update to the parking brake control unit, it relates to a possible failure of the auto hold in certain circumstances, you may not have experienced any fault but it is carried out regardless on majority of vehicles with electronic parking brake e.g. MK7 Golf, Passat etc.

Nothing to worry about! No parts/mechanical work required.

VW Connect is a free data plug that fits into the OBD port of your car, links up to an app on your smart phone and gives you various information about your car, tracks recent trips, mileage, fuel consumption etc quite useful! Well worth having at the moment as it is FOC.
