Title: Stereo/satnav

I’ve taken the family for a weekend in the Cotswolds and the sat nav/stereo is having a peculiar crisis. Firstly it doesn’t turn on with the ignition and needs me to hold the power button for 15 seconds or so... sometimes it then turns on but sometimes it needs a few tries.

Then when it does turn on for the first 30 seconds the sat nav thinks it is back at my house.....

Is this a common issue or is it back to the dealers for me?

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago. It's a common problem that needs a software update. I booked it in asking for the software update, waited for 1.5 hours for the software update to be done to be told "It needs a software update. It's not been released from VW yet, so we'll call you to book it in again when it's available"

Which version of the unit is it you have? Is it the 8" one with app connect?

Yes it is and it does have app connect..... when it fancies working. It never automatically connects so I always end up manually connecting it.
