Post by: golf gti 16valve on 06 October 2005, 19:35
Hi ya ppl ive got a 88 mk2 16v golf gti, do you think i should modify it or keep it all original??? it has big bumpers which wernt standard and estoli wheels, would it hold its value more modified or standard?i dont want to go over the top with it, just wheels exhaust lowered eyebrow spoiler etc, just subtle mods, wot ya all think??

From looking at the cars that are for sale around the scene etc it seems to me that a nicely modified Golf will command more money than a bog standard original one unless the original has got about 3000 miles on it.

i think the  key is to opt for subtle mods, like lower it a bit just so it sits nicely and a debadged grill with clear lights, thats the beauty of golfs u dnt have to to alot to improve the looks of them
