Had an engine fault on my 2.0 GTI and I need a new MAF Sensor.....does anyone know how much they are and to fit? Not an after market one but a VW one?
-
Hi Speedo - Symptoms? well it all started with the car having a Lamba sensor problem....so had the upstream sensor replaced and then all was well (replaced with a direct fit).
Then about 3 weeks later the fault code is pointing me to the MAF sensor. The car actually runs fine with just a bit of fluctuating revs when stationary.
Just been quoted £93 + VAT!!!!!!!

little place called Bromsgrove (midlands)....the £93 doesn't include fitting either!!!!!

Hi, try here:

You'll be able to fit it yourself, it's a two minute job!

The price of them varies depending on your engine type. £93 might seem steep for an exchange unit, but they're about £350 brand new so consider yourself lucky. As said above, they're a doddle to fit.. couple of screws to the airbox and a hoseclip to the turbo inlet pipe.

Just found these guys
www.murraysdirect.co.uk
It's not the prettiest website in the world but you email them with the part you want and they email you back with a cost and whether its in stock or not.
I was quoted £55 for an exchange Bosch MAF + £3 P&P (there is a £25 surcharge which is refunded when you send them the old one back.)
