and whats up with vw I keep finding better bit's on an 87 8v than on our 8816v

Oh I see the switch need's changeing  and I just flushed and refilled the cooling system yesterday and today I find I have two of these fans and senders

it look's easy to fit since I have the plug in loom
check out 87 8valves for a fan and switch and loom since both 87s I've broke had the multi speed and not our 88 valver

to convert to a 3 speed fan, you need the radiator thermoswitch, the fan and the loom.  Follow the plug from the fan it goes to the thermoswitch then to a 2 pin plug, unplug it and swap it onto your 2 pin plug

The red wire on the 2 pin plug is constant live, & the brown is live. The red/white wire is live when the thermoswitch on the rad opens IIRC
