Anyone know if the new style badge ACC set up can be fitted to spread FL car. Reason I'm asking as I've just had a suicidal pheasant run out in front of me at 60mph and it's kind of ruined the front end look. Lower grill is smashed ACC is fine but the bracket and more importantly the legs it fits to the cross member is bent. Air con condenser is bent but isn't losing gas at the moment. I'm looking at approx £1500 quid to repair but this may be less if once stripped down it doesn't need other air con bits. Oh and the outside temp sensor has disappeared too, hopefully up the pheasants back side! I asked the master tech if it was possible to fit the new style ACC set up and he said no one had asked before. So I'm asking you chaps and chapesses.

I think the new sensor is technically different and also the actual controller and the output to the information display...
-
I would not think its possible.
If it was, you would need to change I believe bonnet (front grille badge is larger so bonnet is different), front bumper etc it would not be anywhere near cost effective.

Feck me Chris, how big was the pheasant and how fast were you driving? Are they that soft?
-
I think the badge is the same size. It's quite expensive itself at just over 100 quid. Not sure about wiring as the standard sensor has a heating element in it and the newer style one doesn't.

Look on the bright side, at least the pie will be nice.

Haha, whoever finds the temp sensor in their slice wins! Sorry, mcmaddy I know it's not a laughing matter really.

Worse things happen at sea   I'm destined to be poor I think haha

Surely an insurance claim if its that much?

That's what I was just going to say.
-
It'll probably cost more in the next 5 years insurance premiums. As soon as you contact the insurance company they'll put your premiums up. I've just about got the money but that was earmarked for something else.

If the AC condenser is fine it won't be that expensive. Same thing happened to me a few months back. Had to replace lower front grille (£35), closing element lower grille driver side (£7), radiator support baffle (£5) and the radar sensor trim/cover (£5). Fitted them myself so only payed the dealer for the parts. It is a bumper off job.

Unfortunately mines damaged a lot more. AC condenser is bent and has been pushed back. The bracket that holds the radar sensor is completely bent backwards and everything attached to it has gone. It's going in today for a couple of days.
