I had this on my last GTD and its the same on my new one.
The front doors close "just like a Golf", nice solid easy clunk.
The rear doors feel like they are made from plastic and close poorly. You have to really positively slam them to get them to shut properly - with or without say a window open.
Is it just me?
Is there anything that can be done to fix it?

You ordered the car with too many doors Fred
Personally my back doors shut the same as the fronts but are obviously lighter and feel it. They don't quite have the same heft(if that's the right therm for it) as the fronts. They do close easier than the fronts.
I'd suggest moving the door striker out a mm or 2 to see if it helps.

The piece on the door frame? Is it adjustable?

Yes, without looking it should have two torx bolts hold it. They just need to be slightly loosened to adjust it out.

The dealer will adjust the slam plate for you as they should shut properly every time.

Thanks, I'll ask if they can do it as a quicky...sometimes they do

It would take about 1 minute to do it yourself.

If they don't shut easy with window down then striker plate might be loose or needs adjusting.
If they only shut easy with window down, & hard when window up, then that's due to air pressure as car is better sealed...

how about try some lube?
