So I only picked my second hand GTI up last week, and I just scanned it with OBDeleven and the following 3 fault codes have come up, I'm shocked, other that get it into the dealer, any advice?

I would wipe them all and rescan in a week. I bet they don't recur.

Thanks for the advice, I guess even if they reappear it won't matter that I cleared them

One thing I don't like about OBD1 is that for two of those fault codes it does not state the date/time that it first occurred...& that info is in the control module...
The last one which did , was a fairly recent code...
Personally I would save those screen shots & print out & tell the dealer, cover your back as fault codes should not be there..even if it was an old one off fault they should check & wipe any before they sell on

Don't worry about them, fault codes pop up all the time. Unless you have a problem they are not worth worrying about. Dealers hate these diagnostic things as everyone when they buy them turns their car into a hypochondriac and bugs them about non issues.

Thanks for all the replies. I wiped all apart from engine codes and sent that one to dealer, just to see what they say.

They'll probably say "stop using third party software in the ECU or we'll void your warranty!"

I've had a few fault codes come up with obdeleven then never again. When you are scanning the car are you running the engine or just ignition on? It can make a difference and running a scan without the engine running can throw codes that don't appear on a scan run with engine on.

Thanks, I had the engine running.

Thanks, I had the engine running.
You should have ignition on & engine OFF..always!!...
Unless doing logging or tests that require the engine on.
-
Thanks, know one told me until now!

Dealer said fault code may of been due to it being low on fuel, unlikely!
Anyway I have cleared the code and hopefully it's a one off!

Just another load of s4it from a clueless dealer. You will never get a fault code through being low on fuel!!
