Title: Window rubber trim

My 3 month old facelift GTD window rubbers are looking very tired already.
They're badly stained and faded.

Having looked at a few others at the dealers the other day they seem the same.

The wife's 65 plate polo GTi has much better quality trim.

Anyone suffering the same and found a product that brings them up looking good?

The VW window rubbers are terrible for fading and staying and the mk7 are the worst yet.

For regular maintenance, Aerospace 303 is very good, and a highly versatile product, ace for engine bay too. For window rubbers, apply with a foam pad or detailing brush, them wipe off, to leave refreshed rubbers.  Works equally well on hard plastics.  Important to make sure excess is removed otherwise it will run when it rains.

For a more permanent treatment of hard exterior plastics and rubbers, Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer works very well on hard plastics and window rubbers, and lasts.  Probably best used when the rubber is starting to look very faded and jaded.

Thanks folks. I've ordered some 303.

I've been using some Autoglym rubber/plastic stuff but it only keeps it looking good for a couple of days.

Dealers use acidic substances to clean the cars, mine were stained from new because of it, but got it out with a bit of elbow grease.

They at over 3 years are fine now as I don't get harsh cleaners near them.
