Title: OPENING THE CAR BOOT
Post by: Alun on 05 September 2017, 14:03
How do you open the boot please of the car on the Mk7.5
Does it have an internal release or a key fob release or both and is it a manual or automatic movement.
Thanks in advance.

You lift up the VW emblem on the back.

Thank you Kalimon.
I thought that was the case after viewing videos.
I am a little disappointed with that to be honest, never mind it's not a deal breaker, I have already ordered a PP.
The last 9 years on my A4 I have had the best of all options, internal release, key fob and automatic opening movement.

Internal release? You just open it using the handle...

Key fob? You just open it using the handle...

Automatic lift? Its a Golf, not a G-Wagon :-P

I picked up my daughter and one of her friends after dumping their hockey gear in the boot her friend asked where the button to close it was!

Such a come down after all that Q7 taxi riding.

Ok guys I have broad shoulders 😊.
I was only asking, then made a comment about my A4 (passed it's MOT this morning.)
I have owned Audi cars for the last 13 years but I love the look of the GTI and I am making the switch from Audi to VW, it's everything I want in a car and more. Can't wait for delivery sometime in November? The boot will open that's the main thing 😊

Just before I took delivery of mine, the sales lady was moving it from the front of the dealership to the back and someone started running down the road after her thinking the boot was going to open as the handle was tilted...

You guessed it, reversing camera! In their defence, they were not a VW dealer though.

They'll be beefier still after having to lift that heavy tailgate by hand

The manual boot is just the start. I discovered that I have to lower myself into the car with my legs. No crane lift. WTF?

I've come from a car with electric seats, I am managing to bare through it though.

I've been struggling along with the manual closing of the boot too.

Have down sized from a C63, so the new motor is now less than a third the size 😀

First world problems

Not complaining at all, love my 7.5 GTI

Anyone else get this - if its been raining and car is still wet when you go to open the boot the badge flicks water up at you.

Gets me everytime, all over my suit ready for work lol
