My Mk7 GTI, just under a year old everything been working ok but just got in the car this morning and the infotainment system will not switch on :(
Any ideas have tried turning car on/off, is there a fuse I can pull out to re-set?
Otherwise i'll have to book in with dealer but got to cover a few mikes this weekend & can listen to any music & will have to listen to the wife

You could try holding the on/off button down for about 10 secs or so.

^^ That should sort it. Happened to me a couple of times.

   Nope tried that no worky

At that point I'd usually hit it.
I thought it was 30sec that you had to hold the button for.

thats my usual fix, although could work out costly this time

With the aternative you've suggested, if it was me, I'd keep it pressed for hours on the off chance it fixed itself
Worth another go, perhaps press the button, hold it down then put the ignition on and keep it down until hopefully something happens, 20 secs plus.

Keep it pressed until the head unit resets. You'll get the VW logo screen when it's ready.
