Fitted my GTD with them - pre-facelift.
I'd go and source them on eBay from a mains dealer advertising on there. Usually up to 50% cheaper than if you ask at dealer.
Fit yourself in 1 hour.... including lifting car and removing / refitting wheels.

I got them for free, i sad i must had muddflaps to when i had paid the car

Just checking - is that Mudflaps front and rear? I won't be collecting mine without them being fitted all round!
-
Are the mud flaps the same for pre & post facelift? Does anyone have the part numbers? I'll be buying and fitting them myself asap.
Does anyone know the "dealer fitted" price?
-
Ordered my GTI on Monday and was specifically asked by my dealer if I wanted mud flaps.
I had not included them and the salesman was going through options I may have missed.
-
Just got my facelift GTI and went to fit mudflaps purchased online from a VW dealer. They were specifically for the GTI but the rears didn't fit! There is a cutaway in the flap to fit over the black edging on the bumper which was way too small. Careful cutting with a scalpel (I had to cut quite a lot of material out) got them to fit perfectly. 20 minutes to do the job.

Just responded to the same question posted by the OP in the 'general' section of the forum. Fronts yes, rears; doesn't appear so.

Includes a link to VW's used car section of the website that shows a mk7.5 GTD with front mud flaps but no rears.
-
Interested in this as I have flaps on my Mk7 GTD and getting a facelift GTi soon. Wondering would my current front flaps fit the new car, don't think the rears will do as the gtd doesn't have the GTi rear valance.
-
i was told when ordering that they won't fit on the 7.5, so not sure and tbh not sure why they wouldn't fit..

I would love to hear a dealer explain why mudflaps can't be fitted after delivery

Please film and post on youtube. I has become a pet hobby of mine to torture incompetent VW dealerships

Sent a message to my dealer. He replied saying that the Mk7.5 Golf mud flaps are in stock.

msroswell is quite right - this can be done. Have been to my dealer today to view the car which has arrived early and the mechanics had fitted mudflaps all round. Yes they had to cut away a bit more on the rears to accommodate the new valance as there are no Mk7.5 direct fit rears available yet, but the job is done and the Salesman agreed the car looked better for it. 4 weeks today I'll have it in the flesh - All mines

I went to look at my car on Saturday. It had the mud flaps fitted. They looked really good. I didn't know the rears had to be cut to fit.

Never been a fan of mud flaps.... My dad is though, loves them on his Subaru Forester. He is 73 though and lives in the country

Love the mudflaps on my new Indium Grey GTI. They work really well with the new plastic trim on the front and side of the car and make it look a bit more agressive

Do you know if dealer started with Mk 7 GTI parts or standard Mk 7 versions? I have been sold a pair of standard rears and they look a long way off. Wondering if the new bumper on facelift GTD is more like the GTI than previously?

I've just ordered a full set of mud flaps for my GTI from eBay. They are specifically listed for the MK7.5 GTI only, the advert states that they won't fit the Mk7 or the MK7.5 GTD. The seller has confirmed fittment by double checking my reg on the system.
When the arrive later in the week I'll update this thread with the part numbers.
-
Thanks, Part numbers would be really useful from those that have sucessfully fitted to MK7.5 GTI as I would like a set for when my 7.5PP arrives.
-
Back to dealers and swapped the ones originally provided and obtained a full set of GTI ones as advised by linc-dub. Not fitted them yet but offered them up and they look promising. Fronts are certainly going to go straight on, rears may need minor relieving around the diffuser trim but confident they'll be OK without much effort. Will fit at weekend and confirm. Will share part numbers once they're on.

Only issue with mudflaps is they attract and retain dirt and road grime.
-
And they're ugly as sin IMO.
Personally I'd rather put up with a little extra dirt on the sills.
-
Successfully fitted mudflaps to my MK7.5 GTD today.
GTI mudflaps were used, part no.s 5GV 075 116 (front) & 5GV 075 105 (rear)
Fronts fitted perfectly, rears needed minor trim around the black trim under the bumper. Mudflaps have a recess to clear this but it's not quite big enough as supplied.
Easy job, wheels need to be removed which takes most of the time up but I was all done in 45 minutes including tracking down the tools in my garage!

How did you trim the rear flaps? Was it a file job or cutting?
-
@ Macleesh, I've just fitted mine to my GTI today. Same part numbers as you quoted. The tears where a doddle but I can seem to get the plugs fitted on the fronts, the ones you drill from underneath and then push into place. Did you have any issue? I'm wondering if I didn't drill deep enough?

Stanley knife made short work of it. They are made of fairly soft rubbery plastic, very easy to slice bits off.

I found just pushing them with my thumb didn't work. I used a screwdriver to push the head in and that seemed to make them snap into place just fine.

Sounds like there is drilling needed to fit, is that right? Usually all the holes are already there.

You use the two existing screws that secure the wing liners but need to drill extra 8mm holes into wing liner or under body covers & rear balance to take plastic pop rivets.
No drilling of metalwork required.

So the MK7 GTI mud flaps also fit the MK7.5 with the same part numbers etc?

I think the rears need to be trimmed to make them fit; the attachment area (lower trailing edge of rear wheel arch / bumper) on the car is a different shape / profile on the mk7.5 compared to the mk7
-
I thought it was a MK7 GTI mudflap on a MK7.5 GTD that needed trimming, this makes my brain hurt
