Tidy car, it reminds me of my mums old gold one.

2 problems though, too many doors & not enought engine, is there a 20vT conversion on the horizon?

got a little girl and one on the way, makes sense

Nippy enough as she is but would love to do a conversion, kids = lack of time and money.

few sub mods to be done and thats it. she is all original apart from the wheels. but i have them at work. even have the centres for them

thanks for the comment.

cheers

Nice one matey, looks sweet. I love mk1s and have always had a soft spot for them regardless of them being GTI's or not.  I'm loving the chrome touches to it too.

Can't beat a good example of a 1983 VW golf - standard looking... they are becoming very rare the 1500cc now adays... nice car mate... keep it standard....

By the way 83 1500 come with those 9 spoke wheels in your picture....

I have the brochure that came with it, orange 1983 one, all Gal's in there and none of them have the wheels, only steal ones with the centres. Only one golf in there with em on and thats the git.

Gibby: the chrome is standard, should be some on the bumpers (Top and bottom) but missing

not sure what to do on the conversion  :undecided: Not sure if to spend loads more on the cab or go for a cheap second dub to do up  :undecided: Was told that will be a lot of work to convert mine over to injection. Also, I've got a 1.8 16v engine, but am thinking would prefer a 2.0 16v. Just can't make my mine up at the moment  :undecided:

Cool mate.... can't go wrong with that.... :)

Even got the letter from Normandd (Continental) Ltd dated 8th Aprill 1983, Order for a VW Golf GL manual in black. They can confirm that they have managed to locate one

So what is she worth? Insurance reasons not that I'm going to let her go.

Was saying today to a guy at work with a new MG rover that when his MG is my cars age she will be in the bin  and mine still going strong.

Cheers

Well I look at the value of the old skool VW's as if you had to replace it in the condition its in today, your be looking at alot... so I think £1000-£2000 mate... even though its a GL they are rare as, now adays.
