Title: Revo RV019 wheel ordered
Post by: Sandtrap on 11 July 2017, 09:56
Ordered a set of 19" RV019 wheels in Matt bronze with Michelin PS4 tyres . Hopefully they will show up tomorrow .  Cost me £2k but I'm sure it will be worth it
Anyone else running these wheels ?

I've just looked them up as I wasn't sure what Revo RV019 wheel design was like. I don't know anyone who has these but I think they look great; nice clean, simple design that should be really easy to clean. I think the matt bronze wheels and DBP paint of your GTI will work really well, and matt bronze should do a good job of hiding brake dust.

Will you be keeping your powder coated Santiagos to either use as winter wheels or put them back on the car when the time comes to sell it?

Be sure to put some pictures up when you've got the new wheels on the car!

Santiago's will be stored and perhaps used for the winter. iv made the mistake before of selling the originals so that wont be happening this time ..
pictures will follow soon I hope ..
getting the revos from wheelbase and they said Wednesday delivery but I'm up here in the remote regions of wild Scotland ! ( at least that is how the courier company's see it ! haha..  Aberdeen ) so lets see if they turn up.

What tyres are you getting. Just looked them up and I must say I am very tempted by them but in gloss bronze, think they would look rather nice on my midnight blue.

Ordered a set of 19" RV019 wheels in Matt bronze with Michelin PS4 tyres .

PS4's by the looks of it. Nice set up.

Iv opted for Michelin PS4 225/35/19
235 are what the majority might go for but I like the slightly stretched look .. but really won't be that stretched ...

You'll need to change the site you use to host images or we'll never know....

I was recommended to try postimg.org and it's very easy to use and works a treat. I've now deleted my photobucket account, the site was unreliable anyway, regardless of the use of their immoral tactics to get you to pay

Jeez, when I clicked that link there's more than a few pics of my car on anything but RV019's, I must get around too much!!

I did look at buying a set myself but they're a bit steep for my modest means and there were no discounts to be had. Even my local dealer who I know well said "I could maybe knock £50 of a set but that's about all". Pah!

I do like the Clubsport on Brescias.
I saw my first set of them in the flesh today when picking up my sons. They were on a white FL GTI PP which I was admiring intently. They're good value on the FL GTIs.
I'm half wondering whether I should get a set of reps as winter wheels.

I can't be arsed to go back and transfer all my photobucket shots on every forum for the last God knows how many years so will from here on in be incognito!

Going back to the OP, there's quite a few R's wearing different sets of bronze alloys on VWROC but RV019's seem to be quite rare in that colour so I'm intrigued as to how they'll look.

That's a great shot of the R, Sandtrap.
The Santiagos look great in that colour, I've said that before, but the REVO's are going to add a different dimension to the car.
I'm really intrigued as to how they'll look

I'm getting some gloss black RV019's next year. Seen a few pics of them on GTI's and they suit it perfectly with a little lowering too.

They also only weigh about 10kgs which is impressive.

I think black and bronze will look great. Love the anthracite santi's too. Got a good choice of rims to keep swapping between there!

Sandtrap - they really suit the car and are surprisingly more subtle than I was expecting. Great choice!

I think they look good Sandtrap. Nice to see something a bit different. I also like your Santiagos better than the factory diamond cut version.

The OCD in me would apply some tyre dressing to the new tyres though and clean the white rubber bead sealant off from around the edge of the tyre .

Yes they were just fitted and tested .. get her all clean in the morning .. Santiagos will go back on for winter .. maybe get some 215/35/19 winters for them  ..

Checked the weight and the revo wheels are 2.5kg lighter than the Santiagos!  This will make a reall difference to the driving .

Cheers Darren

Good going getting them fitted so soon :afro:
They look really good and you have an enviable choice of options.
The colour is distinctive yet subtle and they fill the arches out perfectly.

Are you a tattoo artist? I'm assuming the 8 hours was spent tattooing mermaids on peoples bums rather than you having spent 8 hours enduring a mermaid tattoo'd on your own bum?
What a great way of earining a living doing something you love

It's on  eibach sportlines ... no spacers with the revo but had 15&10mm with the Santiagos

I really do like those. I've not seen many cars in the metal with bronze alloys but they do look good and IMO the simple 10 spoke design suits the mk7 Golf.

Good choice, Sandtrap.

Hi Sandtrap, that's some impressive work there - i posted about a similar problem on my Santiagos and think I'm going to go for the anthracite as you have there.  Without wishing to copy you entirely, can you tell me - where did you get the black union jack and are the club sport centre caps just per the previous link (i.e. £50  £65 Ebay) or have you found another source?  I was thinking we could look at a group buy option - something that we used to do often via Corrado forums in the past.  Cheers
