I owned a Mk5 Ed30 before, fantastic car.
Looking to return to the fold with a MK7.5 GTI PP, Think that's the right expression?
Couple of questions if I may?
Any reason to upgrade DNS to DNS Pro? I mean, the gesture sounds good, but the physical buttons look easier to use when driving? Apple car play is available on both right?
Sevilla Red wheels are my preferred option, least "bling" wheel of the options I think?
Any other must have options?
Current spec list looks like:
GTI PP 5dr DSG
Tornado Red (want a bright colour)
Sevilla Red wheels (hope the red stripe matches tornado Red)
DCC Suspension
Dynaudio
Rear Camera
Think that's it for now, look forward to your advice.

Having owned a GTD with the DCC, I wouldn't spec it again. It was ok, but personally, not at all worth the money. The standard ride is more than excellent.
Most things come as standard now and the GTi is very well equipped.
I like the 90% tints as we have a little one and it negates those crappy blinds on the windows. It also looks really nice contrasting against the indium grey.
Standard Nav is nicer than pro in my opinion, especially when you consider the extra cost.

Just picked up my 7.5 GTI on last Thursday and like what's been said it does come fully loaded. Even the standard sound system is decent. I went for 19" Brescias, 90% tints and the velour trim which is amazing if you don't like the tartan. Other than that it would be nice with a pan roof but couldn't justify the price.

Most options are a really personal choice, you are bound to get conflicting views so you'll just have to work out a way of choosing unless cost is not a barrier. Except colour. Definitely red, red is the best by far, red looks luxurious and fast, just as a quality hot hatch should be. TR has a deep glow to it, a luminosity which when you spot it in a car park on a sunny day is really uplifting and exciting. I quite like red

Interesting comments on 90% tint, I assumed the 65% tint as standard would suffice?
Will look into that.

I've gone for a similar spec to what you're looking at, albeit in white. I couldn't justify the cost of DCC myself after test driving a car on 19" brescia's that didn't have it fitted, the ride was very good, even on some fairly unforgiving roads near my local dealership. That said I then went back the day after ordering and spent £750 on adding the art velours interior .
My car has apparently just arrived in the U.K. So I'm keen to see whether the 'Sevilla Red' wheels look like the Configurator pictures or are the same dark graphite ones that are in the new brochure. (I'm hoping they're diamond cut like the Configurator as that's what I thought I was choosing when I ordered, but I suspect they won't be...)

From all the pictures I've seen the Sevilla Reds are dark grey with a red outer rim. Looking forward to seeing your pics as this will be one of the first GTIs delivered with them.
And welcome back CocoPops, I remeber you from the mk5 days.

It is adequate, I didnt bother with 90% and 65% is dark enough - for me.
As others have said its all personal, if you took a standard spec GTI in the UK you'd not be disappointed, the only optional extra on mine was towbar and heated front screen because I need a towbar for bike carrier and the heated front screen on a morning in winter is bliss, had it on pretty much every car for the last 10 years.
Other than that I struggled to really justify why I needed anything else considering the standard spec is so good.
Maybe I'd go for a sunroof next time but to be honest I'm living without it just fine, dont overly miss it (had pan sunroof on last car).

Agree with Briggsy, most of the available options are luxuries rather than necessities. The standard spec is already pretty generous compared to what some other countries get.
I'd consider the climate screen and the rear camera, as they're fairly inexpensive, but everything else I don't think i'd appreciate the benefit. Each to their own though, if you don't mind spending the money then go for it.

Thanks for replies guys :)
I've slightly added to my spec then, you're right £95 for 90% tint is almost a "no brainer"
I missed out the leather option, for me with kids, it's an essential option.
Not sure what the current build/delivery times are, but any time after Sept 1st in order to collect the new 67plate.

Good choice on colour mate..

Ahhh there's a name I recognise :)
Still have some GTI seat inserts somewhere that you made back in 2008 iirc?

I'd spend the £95 on a night out and stick to standard tints, it's more than dark enough.
