Title: Paint or lack of it inside door shut?
Post by: CHB100 on 01 July 2017, 13:30
Just gave the R a foam and 2B wash  (detailing my a**e) and just noticed really patchy paint work inside rear n/s door frame, almost like it's just overspray and or the robot had a funny moment.

I imagine I'm not the first with this as I recall many complaints about the quality of paintwork on these. Doubt you would see this on a Merc or BMW.

Having just read the post on missing plastic covers etc on the Mk7.5 am beginning to think VW's current build quality isn't all it's cracked up to be, just as well they drive so B good! Is it since the emissions scandal I wonder?
Any similar issues on the Audi forums, I expect not?

Look forward to you educating us in the Detailing section.

VW's build quality has not been what it's cracked up to be for quite some time...catch up!

I'm guessing  that is 'hasn't'?

Not in any journals for sure, or the wider population. In fact the quality factor is still a major selling point worldwide.
For sure I can see the decline since the Mk5. But some issues are down to basic QC.

You guess correct, see my amended post. Forums are journals by another format. I don't think some of the wider population may have quite the same attention to detail/pickiness that enthusiasts (of multiple golf ownership and forum dwelling habit) may possess.

Habit? Read obsession, I never know how folks hold down day jobs, whilst surfing forums. It's the same on the voy Fulham forum.

I never know how folks hold down day jobs, whilst surfing forums.

And yet somehow the obsessed do.

Have you got any pictures of the fault? Is there any chance it could have happened after the factory?
