Hi,
Anyone got any recommendations for best place to have Monza 18s refurbed in Glasgow area? All 4 probably needing a wee tidy up - the odd minor kerb scratch on a couple (nothing major) and some bubbling starting to appear on the black painted area of one.
Thanks in advance....

Although not local to you, Lepsons (www.lepsons.com) get very good reviews on this and other forums. They used to offer a free courier service, but I don't think they offer this now. Another company I've seen recommended by others is Pristine Wheels (www.pristinealloywheels.co.uk).
Might be worth also posting in the 'General Discussion' and the 'Cosmetic and bodywork matters' sections so non-mk6 members will be more likely to see your post, increasing the chance that someone will recommend somewhere more local to you.

If you want them diamond cut again use the wheel specialist in East Kilbride if you just want them powder coated there is chameleon metal coatings in rutherglen

I would personally use Glentyan Alloys in Linwood. I know they boy who does the diamond cut and he's sh*t hot.

Would be the only thing they are good at then

I've never saw or heard of anything that would say otherwise. How come you don't rate them?

I've seen there work on a few occasions and when they are getting other garages to refit tyres and try and balance them up kind of says it all

That's a nice lie . The tyres are fitted and balanced up in house amigo. The dude that used to cut the wheels has moved on.
Here's the ironic part of this silly disagreement... I saw you suggested The wheel Specialist further up the page. Funnily enough The Wheel Specialist are looking at possibly sending Glentyan work.
They canny be that bad at what they do if your suggested dudes are sending the work to them

Im not the type for lying I will just finish this conversation by asking about the porsche wheels they done recently and couldn't get them balanced up so they tried a tyre shop in paisley to do it  if you want to use them feel free

My bad I assumed you meant they were sending every set out for balancing etc
I wonder what the issue was with the wheels. The guy he has in now came from a tyre background before getting into powder coating/diamond cutting.

I take it you know the guy then that's just started doing there wheels

Aye he's a mate of mine.

Aye he's a mate of mine.
Well maybe he should stick to the tyre game as the set of Bbs speed lines he just done last week where shocking he didn't even split them just powder coated the bolts and everything
-
Aye that definitely doesn't sound too good. Was it your wheels? I assume you went back and told them you weren't happy.

I wouldn't have sent the wheels there in the first place but they where shocking and to powder coat over the bolts rather than split them and do the job right is taking the piss and I can imagine the guy that sent them to him won't be sending any more work his way

I can't disagree with that to be honest. Let's hope his diamond cutting is better than his powder coating :undecided:

I can't see that happening
