What are thoughts on the life shine option please.
-
It's great if it's thrown in as a freebie and the paint underneath it is absolutely spot on perfect and swirl free.
Aside from that everyone will tell you not to bother at the horrendous prices dealers charge for the service and to get it done at similar great cost by a professional detailer who will do a far far better job (hopefully) or just do it yourself as you can buy the kits for not much money.

Overpriced (if done by dealer), and they will probably inflict swirls when applying it and then ironically seal them in with the Lifeshine. There's much better coatings out there, for a fraction of the price that you can apply yourself, or if you prefer spend the money on getting a pro to take care of it. Do not take it as a dealer option.
Exonian knows exactly how we respond to Lifeshine questions.

I bought a AG 'Lifeshine' kit off ebay a couple of years ago - it was 9.99 !!

Great if bought off eBay and done yourself. Very easy job and about £20 in today's money

100% a bonus for the salesman. Something you can do yourself much better than the dealer.
-
Like most things in life, if it really is worth doing, either get it done by a professional or do it yourself.
-
One of the recent posts asked "what are car salesmen for?" This is a good example.
-
Not just Life Shine, but most of the 'extras' that the salesperson will try and convince you you can't do without are overpriced. GAP insurance is a good example - VW's GAP insurance product is horrendously expensive compared to the likes of ALA, GAP Insurance123, Direct GAP and others.
Always do your research first, so you don't end up lining the dealer's pockets.

My Local Autoglym guy has a detailing business too. He Lifeshined my old Ed30 and recently did my mates new S3 for £150. If you are local to s yorks I can give you his number.

Thanks for that but I'm in Essex.
