Title: MK7 boot mat
Post by: ams_sxi on 24 June 2017, 10:21
Any decent rubber boot mats to get for mk7? Assuming Mk7 and 7.5 is same size.

I don't want to spend alot on the original one so was looking on ebay for a cheap one. Any recommend any?

What's your budget?  Semi ridged boot liner from the sealers was £55.

I got this genuine VW one which is great.  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221500646373?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:ITIt%27s

It's not rubber but a flexible material which is a breeze to lift out and shake/clean, and the material cleans up easily.  I did just that last week as had a spillage from a shopping bag - see pics.  The only downside is it can be a bit slippery so things occasionally slide around when driving enthusiastically, but I have a cargo net I can use to stop that.

Just look on ebay, loads on there.

All much of a muchness, think I paid £30 for mine not genuine but fits the Mk7.5 boot perfectly and it was advertised as Mk7.

+1 for the VW flexible boot liner. I had one in my mk6 Golf GTD and l have one in my Polo GTI and they do a good job of keeping the boot clean. The raised lip around the edge keeps any spillage contained as you've demonstrated.

The one on eBay at £37.00 is a good price for the genuine VW item.

i have a spare practically new condition Genuine MK7 boot mat in my Garage collecting dust.  When i bought my Golf R I had another free one thrown in as part of the deal for buying the car.  So the one I had in my GTI PP MK7 is now in my Garage.  But it would probably cost as much as a new one from ebay just to courier it to you.  However if you are ever in Cornwall let me know.

Are the ones for the Mk7 that stuff that feels a bit like the lagging on water pipes? I had one in my CC that I got free from the dealer and I binned it after a few weeks, it was cr@p, think of ice and how slippery it is and you'll get what I mean.

Same here.
My car is not even here yet, but starting to accumulate some extra bits for it already.
