A lot of people use Photobucket to post photos. Personally I use the iOS app.

Upload your photos to Photobucket and

Tap the circled i

Wait for a 67 plate? Really? You'd wait over 2 months for your car and your dealer will be happy to have it hanging around for that length of time? One of you has paid money and got nothing.

Meh, I'd just go for it man.

Definitely get it now. When I bought my mk6 GTD, I took delivery in the middle of July - didn't even consider waiting 6 weeks for the new registration plate and never once regretted my decision.

Since the current registration plate system was introduced, I don't think people really place that much significance on whether it's a 17 or a 67 plate. You'll also have the benefit of being able to use it and enjoy it during the summer months. If it's sitting around at the dealer's for two and a half months, where would the dealer keep it stored? If outside, it could get bombarded with bird poo, which if left on the car would etch the paintwork. It could also be at a greater risk of being damaged at the dealer's than if you had it. If it's in the dealer showroom, it could have numerous would-be customers and their children crawling all over it for over two months!

Get it now and enjoy!

Deffo get it now. Life's too short. It'll make sweet FA difference what's on the plate in 3-4 years time.

Sounds like a nice spec too. Throw up some pics.

I'd be interested to know why you'd want to wait for 2 months? That might assist in giving any advice as otherwise we're all just assuming your motivation.

I waited for just over two months for my car but it was stored at Grimsby port for all of 2 weeks of it. The reason, I wasn't in a rush because I loved the car I was in at the time plus getting the car in march would get me out of the crap weather.

Would I do it at this time of year, not a fecking chance.

hi Arnold,  thanks no 65% tints as car is black i thought the 90% may be to much dark i think im going to weaken and take the car early rather than wait for the plate change, the fog light thing is i think resolved, thanks to this forum i raised it with the dealer just after i ordered it,they assured me it was only a few early cars without them, that said they have a gtd 7.5 demo without and ,m aware of another local gti owner who was happy to accept the £500 in leu,i feel the look great as they are led and realy set the front end of,cheers dave

hi,my bad for not explaining myself, the cars  original delivery was august, then i had a call saying they had a golf already in pipeline, but no spec just a slot ,they then put my spec to this build and it just went so fast! the buid tracker still has car at sheerness, yet car arrived on tuesday,i asked about how taking car now on 2017 plate affects future value, thy reckon about £500 difference,im not a plate snob and i think im weekening and gonna take it now hope that helps,Dave

Okay so just a financial conundrum - then only you can decide that one. If it matters at all, I'd take it now as the £500 will be but a drop in the ocean of depreciation so you may aswell just get on and enjoy. Afterall, if money was your primary motivation you wouldn't have bought a GTI in the first place....

Get it picked up and start enjoying it, that's what cars like this are for not for worrying about future values!

Mine was on route to UK port start of this week and expecting to get my hands on it late next week... Literally I would do anything to get in it early! Not helped by the Skoda Fabia hire car I'm currently in...  :embarrassed:
