Title: Creaking Noise Under Drivers Seat
Post by: hog_hedge on 16 June 2017, 22:07
Has anyone come across a creaking noise when you press the carpet under the drivers seat with your foot or hand? It's quite loud and can be heard from outside the car.

Could someone try it on their GTI to see if this noise is "normal"?

The last thing I want to do is to take it into the dealers for them to rip out the dash, seats and carpet on a brand new car just to fix a minor annoyance.

I will try and get a video of it tomorrow.

In the interests of science and in offering support to a fellow forumite, at great personal expense (I removed myself from the comfort of my sofa, the telly and my rather fruity bottle of Fleurie) I just visited my car and performed experiments to determine if the OP has noticed a generic feature or identified a possible issue. No. Mine is totally silent.

Thank you for having a go, as long as it isn't damage or something that will become a problem in the future then I can live with it. I'll do some more digging
