Can't tell from that, it depends on wheel width and offset. I thought people ran 205/40/17's on a mk3?

sorry forgot to add they are RIM WIDTH: 7.5J x 17H2 et35 I thought I would get them a little larger as there are a lot of potholes where I live

It will be close on the rear arches. From experience 17" TT wheels on a mk3, 205/40 tyres, mild suspension drop, they clipped the rear arches at times.

these are rs8 reps if that makes a difference, but thanks for your help, i`m not going to get them if they clip.
what about 16`s with similar specs?

the right 17's look great on a mk3 but getting the right ones is not so easy.
Iv'e always stuck with 16's with 205 45 on and no probs ever.
