Title: Milltek & Bluefin fitted
Post by: Sandtrap on 28 May 2017, 21:14
Ok got the turbo back milltek fitted along with eibach sportline springs , 10&15mm spacers and then bluefin stage one .
Milltek was a pain to fit . Needed tweaking and also had to have spacers fitted to a brace that crosses the subframe under the exhaust, but we got there . Sports cat non res with titanium tails and it sounds perfect, I did worry it could be to loud but it's good !  Then after 20 miles I got engine management light come on . Checked it out and found it was the cat, re set and then got 50 miles before it came back on.
Up loaded the bluefin and was very impressed, big difference, would expect it's now somewhere around 270-280 Bhp so well happy with that for £415.
Eibach springs have reduced the altitude just right for me , but ride seems to be not much different! Perhaps slightly firmer but hardly noticeable, the 10&15mm H&R spacers are looking good but on a fast dip/bump the tyres are rubbing !
So exhaust sounds great but needs management light addressing , bluefin along with the milltek has really opened up the power , and I my have to remove the spacers ( rather not if there's another option)
Few small issues that ought to be easily addressed

I've done it on mine - I'm on sportline's too but I have aftermarket wheels (19 x 8.5 ET 46) although it rubbed with the standard 18s. Fender screw mod is basically the removal of a arch liner screw located just forward of the top of the wheelarch and then tucking the arch liner behind the metal tab that the screw went into. Works a treat - message me if you need more info. Also, I reckon with those mods you're likely to have way more than 270-280BHP as the majority of stage 1 tunes give 300+ and with the better breathing of the exhaust you should be easily there (even though sometimes Bluefin gains aren't as impressive as others).

Edit - just checked their website. Have a look at the dyno graphs as they quote 311BHP (although their original figure of 261 might seem high, it's not unheard of that standard cars are pushing 250BHP)

Edit (no. 2) - I'd speak to Bluefin as you can get their Stgae 2 map which will give an extra 25ish BHP and remove the check engine light too for £50 (according to their website).

Just what iv been doing this morning . been on to superchips and ill get the stage 2 later today . but if only to remove the warning light .  stage one seems very impressive and enough for me .. 25bhp more will just about enough

It'll probably be intermittent anyway but worth getting sorted, especially when it comes round to MOT time.

Also, if you're in a manual it might be time to take a bit of care of the clutch - try not to boot it when in high gear with low revs as this puts the most amount of stress on it and can start slipping on tuned cars.
