Title: Mk1 fuel starvation abf fuel injection
Post by: Z3i on 21 May 2017, 06:44
Morning guys

Fired my mk1 abf up for the first time yesterday and drove it first time today
There's a little stretch of road and I gave it a bit in second, immediately after throttling off it cut out, restarted it and it ran on two cylinders for a bit then back onto four and was fine. It sounded like fuel starvation?

The pump is new, it's a cheapo £15 fuel injection jobby and makes quite a racket, sounds broken already
I'm looking at getting a new decent quieter pump, any recommendations?

I also have the pump in the boot above the fuel tank, no lift pump, the tank is a new repro one with the outlet at the bottom. Do I need a lift pump or swirl pot? Many thanks

You have the original kjet pump? That should be man enough to run the abf on its own.
